Normally, I don't read teen-age romances. However, I have to say this one was written rather well. I think the maturity level of the characters were a big factor. There were times I had to remember how young they were. Spencer did do some typical young male things, I have known guys just like him. It was interesting to see how his home life and his interpretation of things effected the way he behaved. I think sometimes in households where there is not a lot of verbal communication kids tend to see things one way when they can be totally different. When he finally grew up a little bit and started to communicate with his dad he could see things in a totally different light.

I thought the story was really a good one. A young 19 year old decides to become a Marine. As soon as he entered boot camp life as he knew it was over!! I thought the storyline was right on with reality. Being a Navy wife of over 30 years the facts seemed like they were pretty true to the way things are. I do doubt that a Marine Private would have been able to afford a condo off base. But that is a minor thing. The young couple that did marry was typical of some of the young military couples in the service today. A hard time but doable if you are committed and they seemed to be.

The hero, Spence is quite the lady's man. However he was always honest about never committing so the girls knew to start with they were going to be a one night stand. His best friend, the heroine, calls him a slut and it seems to be a joke between them. They are best friends, never seeing the other as a romantic interest. Then he starts to see her in a different light. But he is torn because he doesn't think a wife and the military life go together. Too hard for the wife and just leaves her miserable. The way he believed his mother felt every time his Marine father left for another deployment.

Marrying your best friend is the way to go. You start off being in each others corner before all the other stuff starts. I really liked this couple and wanted a happy ever after for them. I definitely recommend this book. A very good sweet romance that grew over time and was fun to see it happening. Very entertaining. Of course, HEA

Okay, I may be slightly biased since I am a military wife, but this was a great book. It pulls you in right from the start and shows you perspectives the public often doesn't see. Usually military stories start with the two already together and the man instantly being shipped off to war. You don't know their story, just the situation. But in Back To You, you get to know Ellie and Spencer. You know them down to their core and understand why they react and say the things they said. It's a behind-the-scenes look to the prequel of everything. There were so many things I could identify with from my own journey. The emotions were so raw and honest. Because of that, I was rather sad to have finished the book so quickly. I cannot wait for a sequel.
I really did like this book, but I'm not so sure Ellie should have forgiven his transgression (and wow, what a transgression it was) so easily. That was the only note that rang false for me. He should have had to do several months (maybe years) of groveling, but I guess the connection between the two was strong enough that Ellie knew what she was doing. This really was a lovely book.
This book had me up all night! I wouldn't suggest this to be a 'by the bed read for 20 mins' story. You will get sucked in!!! The words and emotions of that military life are so real. Thank you for letting me dive into this world! Also, I suggest buying the sequel at the same time. I ordered mine the very next morning for a 1 day ship!
I wasn't sure what I was going to think about the book but I am a huge fan of indulging in reading and the author had posted her link. By the end of the book I wasn't ready for it to be over. Maybe it was the fact that every place Spencer went my own husband had gone to that made it so relatable. So many things made my heart clench that I couldn't stop reading. I love a good love story and this did not disappoint.
I am in the process of reading this book now and I love it. It is one that you can't help to smile like an idiot while you are reading it. The only thing I don't like is some technical terms. I am a former marine and we call it mos school and now a school like the army. Other than that I am being simply not picky. It was a wonderful must summer read for any young women.
This was a true love story , so realistic, I felt myself so drawn in by these characters. Hoping to read more books like these by this author. As a army wife, I can relate to the heart break, and complete love for our soldier husband's, or for some , boy friends. It never gets old. The journey these 2 were on, . Was truly beautiful. My heart went out to them, so glad they found that no matter what, a pre-destined souls, will always find it's way, even through heart ache, right to the heart of love. Thank you to this author, for keeping it real. Loved loved. Loved this book so much, please write more like this. Just what the heart needs. Highly recommend this book to any one.
Wow! That was amazing. This book had me in suspense, laughing, and almost in tears. I could visualize each character in each setting. I wanted to read more. The ending was perfect. I didnt want to put it down. Im not a big reader so it has to be a GOOD book to hold my attention. Now to start on book #2!
